I have two questions!
1: Do you think Lauren Ambrose could pass as 27 in the kikithepirate icons here?
2: If not, know of any redhead PB's who look 27? I have already ruled out Felicia Day, Christina Hendricks would be okayish if any and all firefly icons didn't look so crap (curse you firefly and your poor lighting!) and kate winslet would be nice if she were ginger more, unfortunately she's mostly just blonde :-/ halp?

Were any RP'ers planning on going to Crystal Ball? I just moved to Ohio and I really don't know how popular this event is. Ohio is a mecca of HP fans, to be sure, but not the RPing kind. Anyways, if anyone had planned on going (or, now that you're hearing about it, wants to go!) plz2b letting me know, as I would like to go but do not have anyone to room with. This is an issue.
Also, speaking of HP-Ohio, there are serious (sirius, even) talks of hosting a Quidditch World Cup of IRL Quidditch which looks like this:
I'm thinking it would be pretty awesome to put together a HP RP'ers team! It wouldn't be until 2010, so it's obviously too early to be asking people to put their names in a hat (or a goblet of fire, lawl) but is there any interest whatsoever? Feel free to link people to this entry if you feel like they might be interested in this sort of thing (OR if they are 18+ and living in Ohio and not currently part of HP-Ohio!) because I feel like this would be an excellent idea, a sort of meet-up, if you would!
Yes, it's a pretty physical game (I went to the season closer, Columbus Cruciatus vs. the now disbanded Ohio Northern United) but with a large enough team there would be plenty of substitutions. There are a lot of people playing that aren't superbuff and exercise-every-day people. Hell, I want to play and I'm just about the least athletic person in the world.

ALSO this is totally unrelated, but one of the ladies at HP-Ohio dresses up like Voldemort (she is called VoldieBeth) and at a con (Dragoncon? Marcon? One of the con's) she totally got Matthew Lewis to AK her! Seriously, it's the best story/pictures ever! She was killed by Neville FR RLZ.

So you know how excited I am to get in to RPing again? Still excited. This is dampened only by the fact that my computer is on the fritz and is probably going to blow up all over me if I don't go get it repaired soon. So... that's what I'm doing. Getting it repaired. Tonight. I'll be as active as I am able, but I'm not really able to RP on work computers (only on my laptop whilst at work, heh).
So give me a week or so, ish? I'll try to sneak over to some place that has computers and interwebz already in a few days to do some massive rp-catching-up, but in the mean time- :(

I'm off to camping in Caseville for the weekend, so I won't be about. And then I'll be reading Breaking Dawn because I'm already reading it after all my other friends (except, you know, Marisa and Gen who are going camping with me, hehe) :D

I'm sitting in the douchey-tooly coffee shop that I hate in order to get les intarwebs. I'm living on Dena's floor right now (well, technically the floor of her livingroom) and she does not have the internets. Which is fine, it just means I have to come to this place if I want internets after work.
This music blows.
I spent all day finishing up my Edward mix which includes a song actually from 1918 (I'm way too proud of that bit, heh). I secretly love my Twilight mixes way too effing much.
I know I've missed a ton of RPG stuffs while I've been gone (or at least I feel like I ought to have). I've finally updated Gin at 12GP! And I finished Ada like last week, but Dena hasn't finished Sarah yet so I can't send her in, psh. PSH.
Also, I gotta pee. So I'm gonna go do that. And then I'm gonna find me some nice fanfiction to read while I'm at home and internetless again. It's been a long day :-/

- Penelope is, quite possibly, the most adorable movie I've ever seen in my entire life ever ever ever ever ever ever. Seriously. I am even more in love with James McAvoy than I was before I saw it. Marisa and I are going to Target this evening to buy it for ourselves, because I cannot possibly live without owning this film. I don't really get why there were so many weird accent shifts, though. For example, McAvoy was American, Richard E. Grant was American, Nick Frost was American, Burn Gorman was American. But Russell Brand was English and there were several English accents popping up from here-to-there. It was silly! But James McAvoy's hottness made up for it all. And the adorable plot. But mostly McAvoy. He even had greasy hair!! BUT HE WAS SO GOOD! And And And! Ugh, anymore gushing and I'll be spoiling, so I'll be done for now. FOR NOW! This icon is from Penelope!! GAH. *izded*
- Finished Ada! I'm actually really happy with her. I softened her up a bit, sort of. And she's got depth! Which is precisely what she was lacking, so that's great :D
- Still floundering on Mandy. Ughhhhh. Also, I totally ran out of time to cap SJA! I'm going to try to do it soonish, Kate, I promise! Maybe I can find the other caps that that other person was looking at?
- Guys, someone needs to icon Neil Patrick Harris STAT. STAT BECAUSE HE IS DOOGIE HOWSER. And also STAT because he's kind of amazing. He's hysterical as Doctor Horrible and hysterical as Barney and seriously I can't think of another child-star like that who is as successful as NPH is. Ok, maybe Drew Barrymore.
- I don't understand why people are still getting themselves into tizzies over book-->movie issues. The Twilight fandom is having a lot of freakouts because of the dancing-to-Clair de Lune-bit and it's just, whatever. There's more to be said in Edward/RPattz's facial expressions and body language in that moment that takes up several pages of book-time! (seriously, it looks half like he's going to pull her closely to snap her neck and drain her, half like he's going to pull her closely and ravage her senseless, and half like he's going to just dance with her like he actually does - seriously, it's so sexy he's got 1.5 amounts of Edward to work with) The point is it works and I just don't care anymore. Same with HBP, tbh. I'm just like "meh" because obsessing over the details just makes me unhappy with the film. I'm done obsessing over details, the books are done, I'm just going to enjoy my fandom love the only way that's left! The end!
- I stole some of Marisa's face routine stuff from the Body Shop this morning. My nose feels a little gross but the rest of my face feels AMAZING. I think maybe I would need the stuff for more oily skin, though, because seriously, ick.
Ok I think I'm done now. This was less RPG/fandomy related than I thought it was going to be. Huh. Oh well!

Ok, so I'm developing this character for BNW. She's Adairia Blair-Stewart Crumb aka Gideon's Daughter (lulz).
A few things to note:
- She's horribly judgmental
- She's rich
- She's a party girl/socialite
- She's the "Paris" to Dena's "Nicole"
- She's not entirely nonredeemable, she has a few good qualities about her
- Mostly she's been spoiled rotten her entire life and has very little worth outside of being famous for no reason and Looking Good.
Right now I have Kate Nash in mind for a PB for her, but I thought I'd open it up to suggestion as well. Mostly because Kate tends to make very sweet expressions, and Ada isn't very sweet.
Remember, Ada is the product of Jessica Hynes (with the redder hair) and Simon Amstell.

Basically I want her to have some curl to her hair, have it be reddish or blackish (red from Aileen's side, black from Gid's), and I'd like her to have a roundish face like Jessica has. She can have a curvy figure, but she needs to have a thin waist.
Though really, the more I look I find icons of Kate that are less rockstar-ish, which I was trying to avoid. Ada isn't a rockstar, and it was quite awkward trying to make her talented at anything besides drinking someone under the table.
I'm having a harder time finding her voice, though. Just have to work harder!

Attn: people who icon things!
The kids in the Sarah Jane Adventures would be really good icon subjects! They're cute and age-appropriate!
Yasmin Paige is 17 but she looks 14-15, and she's dark skinned and sort of vaguelly-exotic-ish looking (not really latina, but similar? Actually, she's sort of Eastern-European looking, maybe?)
Daniel Anthony is 21 and, again, looks 14-15. He'd be a good young Dean Thomas :D
Tommy Knight is 15 and looks it. Nothing intriguing about him but he's adorable. Still has a baby face and he makes great facial expressions in SJA.
If I still made icons I'd attempt this, but I don't. I haven't seen these kids iconned before. Unless they have been and I've just missed it XD
I kind of want to pick up a character and use one of these kids. I'd love to play a Laura-type again using Yasmin, she's great :D

Inquiry: how do you write a piece of fiction (okay, fanfiction) that discusses how romantic a city is and draws the parallels between the romanticism of the place and the romanticism of the couple without it sounding like a glorified tribute to a beautiful city?
Because every time I revise this bitch, it sounds more and more like the latter and less and less like the former. Which sucks, because my aim is definitely towards the former!
Blarg.
Also, if anyone cares, I've posted my first ever Twilight fanfiction here. It is called (all roads lead toward) the same blocked intersection and it is really really emo.

So my professor / mentor here at Eastern did an episode of 30 Days. Well, he was host to someone doing the 30 Days thing. Anyways, the point is - my favorite professor is going to be on TV this Tuesday!
"Same Sex Parenting" is the episode, and it's a little strange that my professor has an IMDB profile, not going to lie.
You should watch it :D I won't even spoil you for the end!

Ok so I will hopefully / probably be back to RPing sometime next week! This week is the Week Of Doom, and next Monday also contains a crapton of papers to do.
BUT after that I will be mostly done with school! I'll just have finals, but I'm not super extra concerned about them. One final is a take-home, one is in Comm. Research which is almost exactly like Psych. Research, and I remember everything from my Experimental Psychology class so this class is a breeze except for the large paper we're writing (run-on sentence ftw!).
The other class has the big huge scary final, so that one I'm worried about. BUT. It's Psychology of Prejudice and Discrimination, so all the learning and studying and stuff is totally interesting.
I'm afraid that my Lj friends are getting bored with me, so you get to hear my ramblings!

This is inopportune, I have a shitton of work to do! Haha. At least it's a nice break. I just can't get carried away, because the Undergraduate Symposium is in three weeks and I need to buckle down and finish this paper.
